Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will generally meet with them to find out exactly what they need from the photos well before the shoot so as to be fully prepared and give the client time to come up with answers to questions if there are any unanswered.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Photography and Graphic Arts Technology as well as many additional classes, seminars, workshops and years of on the job experience and learning.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I price based on the details of the shoot and how the photos will be used so it varies a great deal from shoot to shoot.
How did you get started in this business?
I studied photography in college, assisted over 100 different photographers over 6 years as a freelance assistant, became a producers of stock photo shoots for 6 years and then opned my own commercial photography business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
For the majority of my career I have produced stock photography with Getty Images and Corbis. I've also done magazine work, clothing catalog work (both on and off model), architectural, musicians, weddings, portraits, and events. I am still an on call / contract photographer with the Boeing Company.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It's become much easier in the last decade or so to make a decent photograph. It's still extremely hard to make great photographs. If you want to better your chances of great photography hire someone with lots of experience.
