Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depending on the session type we will have a phone conversation. For Senior Sessions I like to sit down with a parent/guardian and the Senior to talk about what they like and don't like.
Based on our conversations we move forward with setting up a date for a session. Once we have a date set I will send out my contract.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken classes at the Fox Valley Tech for using my camera. In addition, I have spent countless hours of online education for my editing tools and my camera.
I spent 2 years prior to starting my business really learning my craft and educating myself.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All of my pricing depends on the type of session/# of people. This information can be found here: http://www.butterflyframes.net/your-investment.html
How did you get started in this business?
I have always loved to take pictures and one year my mom asked me to take a picture of her and all of her grandkids for her Christmas card. She received so many compliments on the picture and I was encouraged by family to start doing what I love.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with large families, individual head shot, sport teams, Seniors. I am open to all groups!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just finished up photographing the Kimberly Lacrosse Youth Program. I photographed approximately 140 kids between 8U - 14U. It was such a fun experience and always so rewarding when families get to see my unique take on sport pictures.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't always go for the cheapest photographer. Sometimes cheapest means quality may not be as good. I take such value in the images that I provide and all I want is for my customers to be satisfied.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about what you want to get out of the session. And be sure to voice with the pro what you are wanting. I love when I am giving the reigns for creative freedom, but I also want to make sure it is the type of session my clients want.
