Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With all portrait inquiries, I like to discuss with them what they are looking for, what they are going to wear and if this is for personal use or a business portrait.
In some cases, it will work better to have a face to face consultation about their needs and have a chance to see what they have selected for their outfit. I help guide them to an outfit that will help them look their very best.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly learning. When you stop learning you are dead. Not only physically, but your business. I want to stay with what is current and helps me create the very best possible portraits for my clients.
I attend several conventions every year along with numerous one day seminars. My studio was the first in the world to go completely digital from using digital cameras and printing with our in-house digital color lab.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I offer many styles of Portraits (Product Lines) that include Business Head Shots, Family Portraits, Senior Portraits, Children's Portraits, Newborns, Maternity, Eagle Scouts,Pets, Commercial Photography and more.
Each product line has different pricing structures geared to what the needs are of people that come in for a portrait session. Our session fees start at $55 for a session with about 5 images to select from. Other sessions offer more images to review and more clothing changes.
How did you get started in this business?
I was born with a camera in my hand and it was a very painful birth for my Mother. lol.
Actually, I grew up with my Dad being very good amatuer photographer. We had our own black & white darkroom. We loaded and develped our black & white film and did our own printing. Photography has been a lifelong passion.
I think of myself as not only a professional photographer, but also a historian. I capture a slice of time in your life and record it for you on photographic paper. Kodak says that with my color lab, the images I create will be around for 150-200 years. That is my dream as well.
