I reach out by phone and email during the initial phase. If possible. Go over any questions they may have. Discuss details of their wedding/event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a member of PPA and WPPI. I try attend seminars each year to stay up to date on the latest trends in photography.
