Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer free consultations either in person or remote. At this time I will listen to what you want, ask questions to find out things such as your budget, and needs. If the client wishes to continue using StarGirl Events services, a contract will be drawn up and a retainer fee is required. Once all things are set, Let The Fun Begin!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a C.E.P (Certified Event Planner) with a certificate in Event Design since 2017.
How did you get started in this business?
I started in the business by giving my daughter birthday parties every year, each year became a little more detailed, hectic and for me a lot of fun. I realized I loved what I was doing and the reactions that come along with people being happy. At the time I thought I could become a "party planner". I soon found out I was a party planner and if I wanted to take it seriously, Event Planner was the title I needed to hold.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Being a self starter, independent Event Planner doesn't always attract many clients. I have had jobs working with a DJ doing night club events for 2 years, I have done baby showers, decorating only for a small sweet 16, and was hired to do a Gala.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm fond of all work that I do.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It is really important to know your budget first. Any Professional Event Planner needs to have an idea of your over all budget first.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Type of event
budget
theme/colors
size of event
and needs. Do you want an Event Planner or an Event Decorator? Are you only looking for dessert table/candy table services?
