About
Stephen is an award-winning Boston-based photographer who is known for his sense of color, technical mastery and thoughtful responsiveness to his subjects.
Stephen studied photography at Boston University and M.I.T.'s Creative Photo Lab.
Starting as an editorial photographer, Stephen worked for Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and many other publications. He moved on to commercial photography and for many years specialized in corporate annual reports and collateral. Among his clients: AT&T, Boston Edison, International Paper, Lucent Technologies and Raytheon.
Today, Stephen does lifestyle, portraiture and conceptual work for a range of clients including Mullen Advertising, The Seaport Hotel, Hill Holiday, Digitas, and Pentagram. Among his awards: AR 100, Boston Creative Club, Society for Technical Communications and the Financial World annual reports competition. Stephen has been profiled in Picture Magazine and featured in Selina Matreaya’s book, How to Succeed in Commercial Photography: Insights from a Leading Consultant.
Throughout his career, photographing people has always brought him the most joy. He recently served seven years as president, programs chair, sponsor chair and special projects chair of ASMP New England.
