About

Welcome to Memories in Time Photography. We are a premier wedding and portrait studio based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Although we call Minnesota home, we photograph all around the world.

We have over 15 years experience.

I started in photography while I was still in high school. I was mentored by one of the best photographers in my home state of Michigan.

I adore weddings. Each one is like taking part in a fairy tale. Although I'm trained in studio posing and lighting, I find that my knowledge works in all areas that I photograph. I especially enjoy my new genre of Boudoir. There's something empowering in giving each man or woman self confidence.

You will have the best of the best.
We had a fantastic experience working with Memories in Time Photography! Cara is an amazing photographer and more important, a fabulous human being. Because of medical issues, our daughter’s wedding was delayed an entire year. Cara became a very good friend during that year. She stayed with us through thick and thin, calling, counseling, coaching. When we were finally able to pick the date for one year later, she called and said I have you on my schedule for the entire day. That is your day. Cara is priceless.

Both my daughter and her husband are on the Autism spectrum. and the groom’s father had also been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Any photographer who worked with them was going to have to understand the emotions and need for a gentle photographer. Cara did an amazing job in soothing any anxious feelings through the day. Sadly, our grooms father, Dennis, passed away just one month before the wedding. It was awful. The day of the wedding was emotional, yet Cara was able to capture perfectly all of the mix of joy, peace and even sadness. She truly helped our bride and groom to laugh and smile, and encouraged them to be silly as she took some of the most beautiful photographs I have ever seen. She captured them so perfectly. She was able to capture every moment beautifully and everyone who has seen the album has said – that is SO like them! Cara became more than just a photographer that day.

Cara kept in touch prior to our event, showed up an early and rolled with the punches when our time line came unraveled. She even helped get us back on track when things were crazy. We had a lot of moving components to our wedding and Cara came prepared with a second shooter and even arranged a photo-booth for our reception. Photography is not an area you want to skimp on for your wedding, hire a professional! Our first recommendation would be Cara at Memories in Time Photography. She is AMAZING!!!

Cara is absolutely amazing! She supported me and my Husband with everything. She made the wedding planning so much fun. We have grown an amazing friendship with her and it’s been nothing but amazing. On our wedding day, she knew everyone’s name in the wedding party and immediate family members as well. I couldn’t imagine booking another photographer for my big day! The quality of her photos are beyond amazing. We have a maternity photo shoot this upcoming spring with Cara and I am beyond excited!

Cara Winter is the most amazing and talented photographer I have ever used. She was a blessing sent to my husband and I when another photographer dropped out the month before our wedding. We had no idea what we were going to do until my husbands sister made some phone calls and are prayers were answered .God sent us an Angel from above her name is Cara Winter. She did an Amazing job. I wouldnt use anyone but her from that day to the future. I highly recommend you book her for your wedding. I guarantee you will be so happy with her

    Frequently asked questions

Although most people will call, text or e-mail, ALL of our weddings have a consultation so we can make sure we will work together well for your special day.  I am still a romantic at heart, so I want to hear about your day in detail.  Because of my connections with others in the wedding business, I can help you find any vendors you might still need.

For portraits, I like to have facetime with you to talk about your up-coming session and help you plan your wardrobe and props, if you'll be using them.

It sounds funny, but I have a Master's in Psychology.  I get amazed as how much that has paid off on the wedding day and during portrait sessions.

I do have Fine Art credits, along with yearly continuing education with both classroom and hands on experience.

Weddings start at $1995, portrait sessions start at $125.

I have worked in several different studios throughout the year.  Finally, after realizing that most businesses don't provide the customer service and care that I believe people need, I went out on my own.

I have worked with pretty much everyone, from all walks of life.

I recently photographed two high school sweethearts in their 70's.  They lost touch after high school, went their seperate ways, only to rediscover each other years later...

Feel comfortable with the person you're spending time with.

For weddings:  How many hours do you need?  Is there more than one location?  Will you be doing a "First Look"? What is included in the wedding collection? How do you accept payment?  Is there a payment plan?

For portraits:  Where will the session take place?  How do I see my gallery? How much for additional edits?  How long is my session?  How many outfits should I bring?  Do you have suggestions for making my session amazing?
