What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer, I love to get to know who they are. I get to know what it is they want their look to say , ask them how they want to show up in the world , and from there we create magic ✨I always want my customers look to be tailored to them and I want to make them feel fabulous.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a self-taught makeup artist for 5 years. I have done make-up for photo shoots , weddings and events.
How did you get started in this business?
I was raised in the beauty industry pretty much. My mother is a hairstylist and I've been around stylists , nail techs , makeup artist and so on , for a while. I always loved the transformation aspect of getting glammed up. Once you see yourself transform, it does something to your spirit ! Knowing I can assist in making someone feel good and look good is what made me want to really dive into doing makeup. From the full glam , to the subtle touches , everything has a place in making someone feel beautiful.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide variety of people with different skin tones and under tones. I am very good at asking questions about skin type so I can adjust my application to anyone. I have a very great and adaptable personality and I have clients from all walks of life that I have amazing relationships with.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would tell this customer to ask questions and really do their research. Not only look at their work and see if it suits you and what you're looking for , but also assess their personality. You want someone you connect with to assist you on your day. You also want to make sure they listen to your needs so they can provide you with the look you're looking for.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customers should ask themselves if they want something soft and subtle , or something more glam. Figure out if they want glitter, or matte shadows and if they want soft or bold colors. Knowing what you are going to wear would be a plus as well but not completely necessary.
