Darren is an artist who approaches the day as a humble witness, a documentary photographer in search of capturing genuine moments. He strives to tell each unique story and it's many layers in a creative and authentic way, always looking for the moments in between moments, the unexpected, the intimate and candid interactions that arise within the fluidity of the day. Darren and his entire team bring the highest quality, integrity, craftsmanship, and kindness to the process and hope to be a gentle presence and trusted source of ease on your wedding day.

His time documenting stories across the world as a photojournalist has greatly influenced how he approaches wedding photography, as have his collective interests and experiences. Away from the lens, he's a boat captain, a meditator and a student always in search of learning more. A best friend and a new dad. An avid skier and adventure seeker who enjoys getting off the beaten path and exploring as much as he enjoys the stillness of a week at home.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first step is to schedule a call so that I can learn about your event and share a bit about my approach to coverage. Getting to know the clients I work with is an important part of my process.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a degree in Photojournalism & Fine Arts and have worked for years as a photojournalist with a variety of international medias and alongside some of the worlds most sought after event & wedding planners. I've been fortunate to have world renowned mentors along the way.

How did you get started in this business?

I worked for Reuters as a photojournalist for many years before starting my own studio

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Each event is different and I enjoy all of my events. There is always an opportunity to tell the story of the day in a unique and creative way and bring joy to families & friends by preserving these memories.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Make sure you feel a good connection with your photographer, especially if it's a wedding. Coverage is always much better and more comfortable if you have created a relationship.
