Gordon J. Fong was born in 1948 off the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii on a transporter ship named the USS General Gordon. The family immigrated from China to San Francisco and then moved to sunny Arizona in 1952. In the 70’s Gordon was drafted in to the Army and spend 4-1⁄2 year as an Army Engineer, doing design, drafting and photography at Fort Huachuca, AZ and Okinawa, Japan.
