A lot of videographers focus on the "look" of a video: great looking shots, a cool music track, etc... And the result is a a video that looks aesthetically great, and of course that's important, but what is missing is a well-told story. The video is pretty, but not functional. I put the story, or message, first, and make every other decision based on that.
