About
Hello! I’m Emma — a Southern California native and the proud Owner and Destination-Portrait Photographer of The Candid Camellia! 😊
Life is full of unexpected moments, and since COVID reshaped our worlds, I’ve come to deeply cherish the bonds of family and the beautiful, candid moments that capture those connections. These Portraits become timeless pieces of art — a visual legacy of love and genuine emotion.
I would be honored to capture those authentic moments for you.
My passion for travel complements my work perfectly — I’m happy to provide location recommendations for stunning portraits that celebrate your family and the beauty of the outdoors.
Photography has been a part of me since childhood. I started capturing candid moments with my Yashica Film Camera and RCA VHS Camcorder, evolving into 35mm film and digital Photography with studio lighting since 2013. Over the years, I’ve built a business dedicated to creating high-quality, magical photographs that tell your story.
I offer both customizable and preset photography packages designed to fit your unique needs.
I’m genuinely excited to help you create Portraits that will endure beyond a lifetime. Please reach out so we can start turning your vision into reality.
A note about my lead process:
When I respond to a lead and you accept my services, I charge a percentage fee to accommodate the time and effort invested in the lead process.
If you decide not to proceed, I kindly ask for a partial refund of that percentage to fairly compensate for the lead that did not move forward. I appreciate your understanding and respect for this arrangement.
Love always transcends.
All my best to you and yours,
Emma C.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to work with my clients in a personal manner via phone or through Webcam so we can break down barriers and really understand what they are in search of.
Communication via messages is fine, however I prefer the latter, also depending on how my client feels with the communication process.
Once I understand the details, I start formulating a process to make the session come true!
When a client is unsure of outdoor locations, I always have a library of Locations to offer depending on the client's preferred naturescape background.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Antelope Valley College for my Photography skills and WOW, did my taste for pixelated art, GROW expontentially!
I learned how to dabble with 35mm Color, Black and White Film especially in the Dark Room where developing art, starts in pitch black, darkness. From there, I grew into Photojournalism Composition, Digital - Beginning and Advanced, and finally, Studio Lighting.
The culmination of those courses allowed me to find myself through my style.
