I've been a chef for decades and throughout my extensive travels, I have learned so much about regional American and international cuisine. The gift of making people happy through their bellies is a tremendous honor, one that I don't take lightly.
For years, I owned and operated Brian Averna Catering, a $1mm off premise catering business located in southern Connecticut. Today, I enjoying cooking at private dinner parties ranging from 10-30 people. We plan the menu together, I shop and prep and serve your guests a perfectly prepared multi-course dinner.
I've appeared and cooked on numerous national television shows that included The Today Show, Fox and Friends, ESPN, The Tony Danza Show, The Paula Deen Show, QVC, Q2 and a lot more.

Ive had the pleasure of enjoying Brians food many times as well as watching him in action. Hed be great for someone who wanted to host a cooks party, where people could learn to make Italian food. Its really fun to watch him in the kitchen, hes incredibly personable, and the results are delicious.

Last December, I had the absolute pleasure of hiring Chef Brian Averna as a private chef for a party at my house, and it was a culinary experience beyond my wildest dreams! From the moment he stepped foot in my kitchen, I knew we were in for something special.

I hosted a private dinner and fundraiser in New Haven in May 2023 and hired Brian Averna to plan and prepare the four-course meal. Brian is a professional and top-notch chef with a mastery of the kitchen. He lives in the New Haven area and knew where to source fresh ingredients. I was really impressed with his planning and execution, and ability to keep each course flowing out of the kitchen and on to the table. Brian prepared a classic Caesar salad, lobster bisque, beef tenderloin or monk fish, and strawberry crepes. Our party of 20 started at 6:30 pm and finished at 8, with dessert soon after. It was a lovely event. And Brian is fun to hang with and packs a great sense of humor. -- David
