I started professionally as a photographer at almost 50 years old. I wanted to experience things before I tried to capture them. I consider that I am different thanmost other photographers because I have lived a life rich in experience, and did not have a camera interfearing with my experience. I learned to see the broader image, beyond the frame. So when I take a shot, and take it, there is a thought or concept of some kind tied to it before the shutter even closes. I bring experience across a wide range of demanding, interactive shooting environments and adapt quickly to whatever a job requires. My work spans underwater and surf photography, where I shoot in fast-moving, unpredictable conditions and capture action as it happens. I've also produced a documentary in Malaysia, developing the visual storytelling and on-location skills that come with a longer-form project in an unfamiliar setting.
