I've never felt comfortable in front of a camera. It makes me really nervous and anxious. I found Appture when I was looking for someone to make a photo montage for me to use as an advertisement for my small business and I knew immediately when I talked with Dan Elliott that I had found the right place. He understood exactly what I wanted and showed me several projects he had already done so we could talk through my vision. Not only did he help me think about wardrobe so I could put together my looks before the shoot, but while I was on set he provided really good direction and made me feel comfortable enough to actually look like myself. The resulting images were amazing--so much better than anything I could have done myself or that I've seen other people post. If I ever get married again in another city, I'm flying him out to be the photographer. 10/10 would recommend. Jose was great to work with. Three things stand out: 1. Great photographer - action shots, candid shots, group/pose shots, and even some still life. All top quality and he even got some shots we forgot to ask for, but should have! 2. Great communicator - Our wedding ceremony was formal while the reception was exceptionally casual. This meant we needed someone who was all business at first, but then they had to switch to being like a close friend who everyone knew for years. He was amazing at nailing both, which few can do. He also managed and exceeded expectations while needing no guidance or support on the wedding day. Rare skill. 3. Flexible - Our wedding was a bit different from most, and so were our needs. Jose worked with us and made it effortless. Most wedding photographers would not have been able to do what he did.
